Add notes and images
Write a note
Section titled “Write a note”-
Select a topic, tap ⋯, then Note.
The note opens full screen in Edit, with the keyboard up and a formatting bar above it.

Type. Use the bar to format as you go:

Tap Preview to see it formatted.

Tap Done, or just swipe back. The note is saved either way.
The topic now has a note badge. Tap the badge to open the note again. Notes with text open in Preview, and Edit takes you back to the text.
Tick things off inside a note
Section titled “Tick things off inside a note”In Preview, tap a checkbox to tick it. The note’s text updates to match. This checkbox belongs to the note, and is separate from the topic’s own checkbox on the map.
Undo a note
Section titled “Undo a note”While you are writing, the editor’s Undo takes back your last bit of typing. After you close the note, one tap of Undo on the map takes back everything you did in that session.
Add a picture to a note
Section titled “Add a picture to a note”- Open the note in Edit and put the cursor where the picture should go.
- Tap Image, then Photo library or Take a photo.
- A line like
appears. Switch to Preview to see the picture.
To add a caption for screen readers and exports, type it between the square
brackets: . In Preview, tap a picture to see it full
screen. To remove a picture, delete its line.
Add a picture to a topic
Section titled “Add a picture to a topic”- Select a topic and tap ⋯ → Image.
- Tap Choose from library or Take a photo. Allow access if you are asked.
- The picture appears inside the topic. Open Image again and drag Size to resize it, or tap Remove image.
Mark topics with icons
Section titled “Mark topics with icons”Select a topic and tap ⋯ → Icon. Tap emoji or symbols to add them in front of the topic’s text, and tap them again to take them off. Clear removes all of them.
Link to a web page
Section titled “Link to a web page”- Select a topic and tap ⋯ → Web link.
- Type or paste the address. You can leave out
https://. - A link badge appears on the topic. Tap it to open the page in your browser.
